A long way from the ultra clear, minimal drones of his outings under the Meadowlands name, Brooklyn producer Michael McGregor’s M/M project delves deep into abstracted, texture-obsessed club music. "Midtown Direct" is his debut voyage into a heavy subterranean zone of murky utilitarianism, or as he puts it, “heavily filtered & fucked ambient techno”. Faded, low-tech dance experimentation built for the tape deck.
